🫃🏽Music wraps you in comfort when you feel most alone.

We are rapidly approaching the end of the year. As the temperature drops, and the critters prepare to hibernate, I bask in the subtle sounds outside. When noise is muffled by leaves and snow, we can again hone in on the special that emerges. The sounds that, before, got lost in the noise of activity. The crunching of leaves & the swaying of branches. Our planet hums, inviting rest.
The mother’s hum soothes. Singing comforts her crying child. The vibration of voice and sound of melody travels to the core. Sound is an instant, tangible comfort. It helps soothe spirit, and the child feels less alone in pain, discomfort, and fear.
Music carries this power regardless of its source. It gently hugs energetically, almost tangible. I wonder how it would feel, if you imagined yourself a child again, being blanketed in maternal healing.
Let yourself imagine it is possible, and perhaps, you’ll feel embraced. You are not alone in your discomfort.
By the way, this is Beth Anderson (my mom), who has begun recording pieces to contribute to my upcoming album. How fun, right?!
