Music Heals Impact Report

In October 2024, a question bubbled to the surface of my mind: would it be possible for me to contribute an ounce of healing and peace to others through music, meanwhile maintaining my own health and wellbeing?
As I tried to answer that question, this past year proved to be a constantly shifting journey requiring experimentation, constant micro-adjustments, and a willingness to put myself & my work in front of the public. I started by streaming 3-4 times a week on TikTok anonymously as @MellowVibesPiano, reaching dozens of people as I "hosted" a show and produced my casual phone show. Eventually I migrated to YouTube to engage more accessibly through TV, computer, and phone screens. After literally hundreds of hours of streaming and recording music, 200 became 20,000 subscribers, and the engagement and analytics felt over-stimulating. The allure of social media wore off as the noise amplified. Being seen and interacted with by hundreds of people every week felt oddly isolating in all honesty. This coincided with the completion of refuge, my debut album, so naturally, that voice bubbled up, whispering a compelling set of ideas:
- Reject the noise and chaos of social media.
- Radiate sound with listeners who may have never before experienced the healing power of classical music.
- Incorporate intention as a keystone for healing, and translate music through magical language.
Voila, the Music Heals mission emerged.
Dozens of you funded the donation of CDs (which I continue to gradually distribute whenever I perform at facilities) - THANK YOU. I stepped back from the digital clutter to focus on what felt intimate and impactful: sharing music with people-in-need and directly to email inboxes for free. I’ve been able to focus on quality connections in-person:
In just 5 months since starting, the mission has...
- led to 4 hours of performances in memory-care, medical rehab, and elder-care facilities
- touched 119 residents, patients, and caretakers
- provided access to 24 donated CDs in their in-house libraries, like archives for healing.
The music heals mission is not about the analytics and social media numbers, but about the intangible impact on the souls among us.
As we move into the holiday season, I just want to thank you for being here. For being open to listening, for reflecting, and for being part of this journey.
This magical space is free, but I hope you'll consider stoking the flame with a direct donation 👇🔥.
